A coffee cozy is a great way to experiment with new stitches. This Criss Cross Coffee Cozy uses treble crochet and front post treble crochet.
I think that these will work great in the craft fair, they have a low price point, and are environmentally friendly (versus using paper sleeves, plus they look so much cuter).
They are also a great giveaway, I have been passing them out to friends and asking them to advertise for me if they are asked where they got it.
What you need
- #2 yarn (less than a skein, I made this with leftovers from a blanket)
- darning needle
- 3.25mm Crochet Hook
Stitches Used
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- tc – triple crochet
- fptc – front post triple crochet
Criss Cross Coffee Cozy Pattern
Ch 17
Row 1 – dc in third ch from hook, and in each across. Ch 3 (counts as the first tc), turn.
Row 2 – FPTC around 3rd dc, FPDC around 2nd dc, FPDC around 5th dc, FPTC around 4th dc – continue like this across, tc in last st. (14 FPTC, 7 sets crossed over each other). Ch 3, turn.
Row 3 – FPDC around 2nd st and across (do not cross these ones). TC in last st. Ch3, turn.
Alternate Row 2 and 3 until it wraps around the cup. For me, with a 10-ounce cup, I needed 8 – row 2’s and 7 – row 3’s.
Sew ends together. If you have a cute button sew it on the seam.
