When my mom and I began talking about selling at craft fairs her first suggestion was messy bun hats.
I had never heard of them before. My hair is poker straight, when I was 8 years old I got a perm and it fell out in 3 weeks! I’ve tried curling my hair, I’ve gone to the hairdresser and had it styled. And within a couple hours, it’s back to my flat boring hairstyle. So I don’t really keep up on new trends for hair.
When I googled messy bun hat I was impressed, here is something that might even be able to make my hair look good!
My favorite pattern that I found is by Yolanda at All Crafts Channel. It’s a lightweight hat, perfect for cool spring days. I think it’s a gorgeous pattern, and it looks a lot more complicated than it is. Start to finish, it took about an hour.
There are a couple listed for sale in our store, and I plan on adding more colors. Fingers crossed that this will be a hit at the show in November!
I am working on a few more patterns, a beanie style messy bun hat, one that has the ponytail lower down for days when you don’t want it at the top, and one that is inspired by typical tuques. I can’t wait to share those with you.
What’s your favorite messy bun hat pattern?
I love this hat so cute.
